Meet the man who's trained the UK's greatest drivers
If your day job involves road planning or anything to do with 'traffic
calming' and you happen to run into John Lyon at a function, it
might be best to pretend you do something less controversial for
a living - chicken strangling, say, or peddling drugs. Fourty-four
years as a high-speed driving instructor have given John some pretty
trenchant opinions about the attitude of modern government to the
ordinary motorist.
It was a joy to set off to work every morning, knowing that I would
be co-driving in the best high-performance cars on the market at
that time.
